Pelan
Terms of Service

Pelan is a trip planner you use by chatting with a group. It is run by Tze Wei Wee, an individual based in Malaysia ("we", "us"). By using it you agree to what follows. It is short on purpose.
Who can use it
Pelan is invite-only: you need a code, a trip link, or an invitation from someone already using it. You must be 18 or older. Invite codes are for people you know — don't post them publicly, and don't try to guess them. Anyone with a trip's code or link can join that trip and read its chat, including earlier messages, so share it only with people you'd add to the group.
Your account
You sign in with Google or Apple, so the security of that account is the security of your Pelan account. Tell us if you think someone else has access.
What the assistant is, and is not
Pelan's assistant is a language model. It drafts itineraries, reads booking screenshots and receipts, splits bills and searches the web. It is often useful and it is sometimes wrong.
Check anything that costs money or catches a flight. Prices, opening hours, visa rules, transport times and closures change, and a plausible answer is not a booking confirmation. Pelan is not professional travel, legal, medical, financial or immigration advice, and it is no use in an emergency — call local emergency services. Pelan does not book anything, does not take payments, and does not move money between you and your friends — the expense ledger is arithmetic, not a payment service.
Travel times and place locations on your itinerary and in suggestions come from Google Maps (times marked “~” are our own straight-line estimates). Your use of them is subject to the Google Maps/Google Earth Additional Terms of Service and the Google Privacy Policy.
Your content
Your trips, messages and uploads stay yours. You give us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to store, copy, process and display them, and to pass them to the providers listed in the Privacy Policy, only to run Pelan for you and the people on your trips — showing them to the other members of that trip, checking them for abuse, and sending them to the AI models when you or someone on the trip asks Pelan something. The licence ends when the content is deleted. Neither we nor our AI providers use your content to train models.
Only post what you have the right to share. A trip chat is shared with everyone on the trip. Treat it like a group chat, because it is one.
Community rules
There is no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users. Don't post, upload or send:
- harassment, bullying or threats against anyone;
- hate speech, or content attacking people for who they are;
- sexual content, and never anything sexual involving a minor;
- graphic violence, or content encouraging it;
- spam, scams, or someone else's personal documents without their say-so.
Messages and photos are checked automatically: sexual content, hate, threats and graphic violence are taken down as soon as they're posted. Everything else that breaks these rules is handled through reports. Long-press any message, or tap a traveller on the trip, to report it or block the person — you stop seeing their messages and they can't invite you again. Any member can leave a trip, and the trip's owner can remove someone from it.
We review every report within 24 hours. We remove content that breaks these rules, and we suspend or remove the accounts of people who post it. If you think we got it wrong, email support@pelan.app and a person will look again.
Fair use
Don't use Pelan to:
- break the law, or plan something that does;
- hammer the service, scrape it, or automate access to it;
- resell it or pass it off as your own.
We can suspend or remove an account that does these things.
It is new
Pelan is new and free. It is provided as-is, with no warranty: features may change, break, or disappear, and there is no uptime promise.
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for lost trips, missed bookings, money spent on the strength of something the assistant said, or any indirect loss, and our total liability to you for anything to do with Pelan is limited to RM100. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law — for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud — or takes away rights you have as a consumer under the law where you live.
We don't keep scheduled backups. Don't treat Pelan as the only copy of anything important.
Ending it
You can stop at any time: Profile → Danger zone → Delete account, or by email if you cannot reach the app. What that removes is listed on the deletion page. We can end your access if you break these terms.
Changes
If these terms change in a way that matters, we will tell you in the app or by email at least 14 days before the change applies. The date at the top is the current version.
Apple
If you got Pelan from the App Store, Apple's Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies. These terms are between you and us, not Apple; Apple has no responsibility for Pelan or its support, but Apple and its subsidiaries may enforce these terms as third-party beneficiaries.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia, and disputes go to the courts of Malaysia — unless the law where you live as a consumer gives you the right to use your local courts and laws.
